Kilty B’s complete weekend sweep to push win streak to seven

With the playoffs on the horizon, the Hamilton Kilty B’s are hitting their stride at the right time.

Jordan Stock had a hat trick and a total of 12 players put up multiple-point nights as the Kilty B’s completed a three-games-in-three-nights sweep with an 11-2 win over the Lockport Regals on Monday. It was the seventh win in a row for the Kilty B’s (33-11-1), who also downed the Welland Jr. Canadians 4-1 on the road on Sunday after toppling the first-place St. Catharines Falcons 4-3 on Saturday.

Anthony Pinelli and TJ Hughes each scored twice on Monday in Hamilton’s 11-2 win, during which they outshot the Regals 66-16. Marc Shannon, Tanner Brennecke, Cullen Ferguson and Marino Moro also scored for the Kilty B’s. Eric Mondoux, Mark Duarte, Luke Croucher, Holden Rogers and Alex Jerome each had two assists. Moro had three assists to make for a four-point night. Nolan Slachetka and Hunter Litman scored for Lockport (6-35-1),

Marco Costantini made 14 saves for the win.

On Sunday in Welland, Pinelli scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period in the 4-1 win. Hughes scored twice, including an empty-netter, while Ferguson also had an empty-netter. Kellan Rosenbaum scored for Welland (8-31-4). Cal Schell stopped 17 of 18 shots for the win.

On Saturday, the Kilty B’s jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the midway point against first-place St. Catharines (35-5-2) and hung on for the 4-3 win. Rogers, Shannon, Moro and Duarte scored for the Kilty B’s. Jacob Roach, Xavier Drummond and Jacob Kelly replied for the Falcons. Costantini stopped 41 of 44 shots in the Hamilton net.

The Kilty B’s now get set for a home-and-home with the Pelham Panthers (23-15-4), which includes a Family Day game on Monday at 7 p.m. at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.
