Kilty Bs drop 1-0 decision to Bandits

BRANTFORD, ON – The Hamilton Kilty Bs dropped a 1-0 decision to the Brantford Bandits Thursday night at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in pre-season action.

The Kilty Bs came out strong in the opening period outshooting Brantford by a 12-3 margin, but it was Bandits starter Vyacheslav Gordeichuk standing tall and turning aside all 12 shots he faced.

Midway through the second period both teams changed goalies. Hamilton starter Gage Stewart (Thunder Bay, ON) registered 9 saves on 9 shots while Gordeichuk finished with 19 saves on the night.

Brantford outshot Hamilton 10-9 in the second period with the score remaining tied 0-0 after 40 minutes.

Seven minutes into the third period, Brantford’s Gabriel Runco would beat Hamilton netminder Braedyn McIntosh (Milton, ON) with Adrian Missaljevic and Blair Krawchyk adding the assists. This would prove to be the game winner.

McIntosh finished with nine saves on 10 shots for the loss. Brantford’s Matteo Porporino registered 12 saves for the combined shutout.

Hamilton outshot Brantford 31-19. The Kilty Bs went 0-for-4 on the powerplay while Brantford was 0-for-3.

The Kilty Bs next action is Saturday, Sept. 11 at 7pm when they host the Welland Canadiens at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena. Pre-season tickets are $5.
