Kilty Bs fall to Bandits 4-1

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Kilty Bees (2-2 pre-season) dropped a 4-1 decision to the Brantford Bandits Monday night at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.

The Kilty Bees opened the scoring three minutes into the first period as Sam Shakes (Owen Sound, ON) set up Brody McIntyre (Burlington, ON) for his second goal of the preseason.

Seven minutes into the period, Brantford tied the game 1-1 on a goal from Adrian Missaljevic. Blair Krawchyk added the assist.

The Bandits would take a 2-1 lead 4:34 into the second period as Derek Taylor beat Hamilton starter Braedyn McIntosh (Milton, ON).

In the third period, Hamilton out shot Brantford 16-5 but could not solve Brantford netminder Vyacheslav Gordeichuk who turned aside all 21 shots he faced. In two pre-season games he has recorded 40 saves vs the Kilty Bs.

Brantford would take a 3-1 lead with 10 minutes left in the 3rd period as Easton Wainwright scored on a wrap-around. The Bandits closed out their scoring on a goal from Krawchyk with eight minutes left in regulation.

In goal, McIntosh recorded 17 saves in the loss, Brantford’s Easton Labee collected 20 saves while Gordeichuk finished with 21 saves for the victory.

The Kilty Bs next home game is Thursday, Sept. 16 at 7pm when they host the Caledon Bombers at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.
