Kilty B’s riding hot streak into tough matchup with Caledonia

The Hamilton Kilty B’s are proving they can beat quality teams. Now comes a test against the GOJHL’s best.

After another big win Friday night, the fourth-place Kilty B’s (26-14-3) host the first-place Caledonia Corvairs (39-3-1) at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena on Monday night. Game time is 7 p.m.

The Kilty B’s are coming off a sweep of a home-and-home series with the second-place Niagara Falls Canucks (28-11-4) after a 4-2 road win in Niagara Falls on Friday.

Nolan Slachetka scored twice, including the eventual game-winner on a power play, to lead the Hamilton attack. Slachetka now has seven goals in his past six games. Michael Marchesan and Justin Monteith also scored for the Kilty B;s, with goaltender Matteo Drobac stepping up to stop 33 of 35 shots for the win.

Danial Singer and Carson Edwardson scored for the Canucks.

The Kilty B’s have four straight wins, which includes a victory over the St. Catharines Falcons (29-13-2).
