Kilty B’s shutout Panthers

The Hamilton Kilty B’s defeated the Pelham Panthers 5-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Pelham Accipiter.

Hamilton out-shot the Panthers 49-21 on route to a shutout victory, Leland Gill’s fifth clean sheet of the year stopping all 21 shots he faced.

Nathan Phillips opened the scoring for the B’s in the second period, his twenty-second goal of the season dished by Luca Campolo and Justin Monteith. Phillips currently sits in ninth in the GOJHL in scoring and thirteenth in plus/minus.

Monteith buried one of his own just two and a half minutes into the third frame from Connor Haynes.

Later in the period, Dawson McKinney scored his nineteenth and twentieth goals of the campaign to put Hamilton up 4-0. Zach Vaillancourt also added a goal to make it a 5-0 final.

Hamilton has now won 20 of their last 23 meetings in the last five seasons combined.

With this win, the B’s tie St. Catharines for first place in the Golden Horseshoe Conference with 62 points.

The Hamilton Kilty B’s play their next game Thurs, Jan 26 against the same Pelham Panthers at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
