Win streak reaches three as Kilty B’s double Meteors

Holden Rogers scored twice as the Hamilton Kilty B’s overcame an early 2-0 deficit to pull out a 4-2 road win over the Fort Erie Meteors on Saturday night.

With the win, the Kilty B’s (29-11-1) push their win streak to three games.

Cal Schell stopped 29 of 31 shots to earn the win in net for Hamilton.

After Drew Passero and Luca Mazzo staked the Meteors (10-26-3) to a 2-0 lead in the first 17 minutes, Rogers got the Kilty B’s on the board and Jordan Stock tied the game early in the second period.

Rogers scored the eventual game-winner 5:29 into the third period and Chris Ishmael sealed the win with an empty-netter in the dying seconds.

The Kilty B’s outshot the Meteors 43-31.

Hamilton 5, Welland 2

The Kilty B’s were coming off a 5-2 road win over the Welland Jr. Canadians on Sunday. TJ Hughes scored twice to lead the Kilty B’s attack, while Marino Moro, Jordan Stock and Marc Shannon had one goal each. Tanner Brennecke had two assists.

Matthew Maidens and Dryden Rivet scored for Welland.

The Kilty B’s had a 47-27 advantage in shots, with Schell making 25 stops for the win.

Hamilton 5, Thorold 4 (OT)

In Thorold on Jan. 24, the Kilty B’s stormed back for an exciting 5-4 win in double-overtime.

Marc Shannon completed the hat trick to tie the game 4-4 with 55 seconds remaining in regulation and Marino Moro scored the game-winner on a penalty shot in double-OT. Tanner Brennecke also scored for the Kilty B’s, who battled back from an early 2-0 deficit. Marco Costantini made 21 saves to earn the win in net.
