Hamilton defeats Bombers 4-2 in pre-season

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Kilty Bs defeated the Caledon Bombers by the score of 4-2 Thursday night at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.

Midway through the opening period, the Kilty Bs would answer first, as Sam Shakes and Nolan Underwood setup Justin Montieth for his third goal of pre-season.

With 4:34 left in the first period, Hamilton took a 2-0 lead as Matt Duarte buried it past Caledon netminder Ja,mes Norton with Liam Galton and Underwood adding the assists.

Midway through the second period, Kilty Bs starter Gage Stewart misread a puck around the boards which came out front and was buried home by Caledon’s Leighton Cooke to make it 2-1.

With 6:49 left in the second, Jonas Mogilnicki and Alec Koschanow setup Shakes for his third of the pre-season.

Caledon would again make it a one goal game with 3:20 left in regulation, as Cooke recorded his second goal of the night with assists going to Jayden Seguin and Jordan Adams.

The Bombers would pull their goal for the extra attacker with just over one minute remaining, but it Kilty Bs was Colin MacDougall adding his sixth goal of the pre-season with an empty netter. Duarte added his second point of the game.

In goal, Stewart recorded 24 saves for the victory. Caledon’s James Norton added 21 saves in the loss.

The Kilty Bs next home game is Monday, Sept. 20 at 7pm when they host the Kitchener Waterloo Siskins at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.
