Kilty Bs down Canucks 4-2 in homeopener

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Kilty Bs defeated the Niagara Falls Canucks by the score of 4-2 in their homeopener at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena Monday night. With the victory Hamilton improves to 4-0 in the GOJHL.

Hamilton opened the scoring 4:47 into the first period as Matthew Duarte added his first goal of the regular season. Colin MacDougall and Jeremy Pasma added the assists.

Niagara Falls tied it 1-1 four minutes into the second period as Cameron Eke and Matthew Riva setup Jack Hale for his first goal of the season.

The Kilty Bs would regain the one goal lead on the powerplay with just under five minutes left in the second period. Andrew Lukezic and Justin Monteith found Colin MacDougall who buried it past Niagara Falls starter Mihailo Corovic.

Early in the third period, the Canucks tied it 2-2 on a powerplay goal from Ethan Walker. Tanner McEachern added the assist.

Midway through the final frame, Hamilton would take a 3-2 lead as Justin Monteith and Adam Clark setup Nolan Underwood who collected his second goal of the campaign.

Dylan Abbamont would add the empty netter for the Kilty Bs with four seconds remaining to make it 4-2.

In goal, Hamilton’s Gage Stewart recorded 30 saves for his third win of the season. The Canucks Corovic finished with 28 saves in the loss.

The Kilty Bs next home game is  Saturday, October 9th at 7pm when they host the St. Catharines Falcons at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.
