Kilty Bs open GOJHL season with 4-0 victory

PELHAM, ON – The Hamilton Kilty Bs (1-0) opened their 2021-22 GOJHL regular season with a 4-0 victory over the Pelham Panthers at the Meridian Community Centre.

Midway into the opening period, Sam Shakes and Nolan Underwood setup Justin Monteith for his first goal of the season.

The Kilty Bs would make it 2-0 with 1:58 left in the first period as Liam Galton beat Pelham netminder Brayden Kelso for his first of the campaign, Matt Duarte and Connor Haynes added the assists.

Hamilton’s Monteith would add his second of the night on the power play with 2:07 left in the second period to give the Kilty Bs a 3-0 lead. Duarte would collect his second assist of the game.

With just over a minute left in the third period, Shakes would setup Underwood for his goal of the season.

In goal, Hamilton starter Gage Stewart turned aside all 22 shots he face for the shutout. Pelham’s collected 38 saves in the loss.

Hamilton will be on the road for their next two games. On October 1st they will take on the St. Catharines Falcons at 7pm at Seymour-Hannah Centre. On October 2nd they are on the road against the Thorold Blackhawks at 7pm at Thorold Arena.

The Kilty Bs next home game is Monday, October 4th at 7pm when they host the Niagara Falls Canucks in their GOJHL regular season homeopener at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.
