Three goal third leads Hamilton over Siskins 5-2

WATERLOO, ON – The Hamilton Kilty Bs (2-1 pre-season) added three third period goals, including two insurance markers, as they defeated the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins by the score of 5-2 Sunday afternoon on the road.

Hamilton opened the scoring with 2:41 left in the opening period as Sam Shakes (Owen Sound, ON) and Colin MacDougall (Carlisle, ON) setup Jake Proulx (Burlington, ON) for his second goal of the pre-season.

Midway through the second period, the Siskins would even the score 1-1 on the power play as Tyson Hillier collected his fourth goal of the pre-season with Krzysztof Petryla and Josh Martin adding assists.

With 7:41 left in the second period, Hamilton took a 2-1 lead as Adam Clark (Oakville, ON) setup MacDougall for his second of the night.

KW would even the score 2-2 with less than a minute remaining in the second as Jacob McEachern and Ben Oliver setup Cole Dann for his first goal.

The score would remain tied 2-2, until 5:48 remaining in the third, as MacDougall beat Siskins netminder Dylan Grover with a one-timer for the eventual game winner. Josh Hampel (Waterdown, ON) and Alec Koschanow added the assists.

Hamilton closed out the game with two empty net goals in the final 50 seconds with goals from Liam Galton (Erin, ON) and MacDougall, who finished the night with three goals and and one assist.

In goal, Kilty Bs starter Gage Stewart (Marathon, ON) recorded 22 saves for the victory.

Hamilton’s next home game is Monday night September 13th at 7pm when they host the Brantford Bandits at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena. Pre-season tickets are $5.
